Description For Battery Product Design Engineer

Meta is seeking a Battery Product Design Engineer to join their Reality Labs team, focusing on powering the next generation of AR/VR devices. This role combines mechanical engineering expertise with battery technology innovation, offering an opportunity to work at the forefront of immersive technology development.

The position involves comprehensive ownership of battery pack designs and their integration into Meta's cutting-edge devices. You'll collaborate with product engineering teams to optimize battery solutions, balancing crucial factors like product volume, weight, and runtime. The role demands a unique blend of technical expertise in mechanical engineering, battery systems, and manufacturing processes.

As a Battery Product Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for the entire lifecycle of battery pack development - from initial research and design through to manufacturing and integration. You'll work with state-of-the-art 3D CAD packages, conduct crucial validation testing, and ensure manufacturing processes align with design intentions. The role involves significant cross-functional collaboration, working with teams across safety, reliability, and operations.

The ideal candidate will bring at least 2 years of mechanical engineering experience with battery pack design, though 5+ years is preferred. You'll need a strong educational background in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or material science, combined with practical experience in high-volume manufacturing programs.

This position offers competitive compensation ranging from $111,000 to $164,000 annually, plus bonus and equity opportunities. Based in Sunnyvale, CA, you'll be part of Meta's mission to build the next evolution in social technology, working on projects that push the boundaries of what's possible in AR/VR technology.
