Data Center Capacity Engineer

Meta is seeking a talented Data Center Capacity Engineer to join their Strategic Planning team, focusing on data center performance and capacity modeling initiatives. This role sits at the intersection of infrastructure, engineering, and strategic planning, working with one of the largest Data Center fleets in the industry.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on massive-scale infrastructure, handling tens of billions of user requests, hundreds of Petabytes of data, and thousands of Gbps of network flow. As a Data Center Capacity Engineer, you'll be responsible for optimizing operations and growth of data center capacity and computing resources, considering both cost and technology perspectives.

The role requires a strong technical background with at least 3 years of experience in software and hardware performance engineering. You'll need expertise in programming languages like Python, Java, and database technologies, particularly MySQL. The ideal candidate will have an MS or PhD in Computer Science or related fields, though candidates with a Bachelor's degree and equivalent experience are also considered.

Key responsibilities include developing capacity insights, optimizing infrastructure utilization, analyzing hardware roadmaps, and creating sophisticated models for monitoring and improving data center performance. You'll work cross-functionally with various engineering teams, including Data Center Engineering, Capacity Engineering, and Infrastructure Engineering.
