Description For Data Engineer, Product Analytics

Meta is seeking a Data Engineer for Product Analytics to design, model, and implement data warehousing activities for Meta products. The role involves managing data warehouse plans, identifying data needs, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and building data expertise. Key responsibilities include designing and launching new data models, visualizations, and ETL processes, as well as supporting existing processes and implementing optimized solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer science or related fields, with extensive experience in ETL design, schema design, SQL, data analysis, and working with MapReduce or MPP systems. This position offers the flexibility to telecommute from anywhere in the U.S. Meta provides a competitive salary range of $183,695 to $235,400 per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Responsibilities For Data Engineer, Product Analytics

  • Design, model, or implement data warehousing activities for Meta products
  • Manage and execute data warehouse plans for products to solve well-scoped problems
  • Identify data needs and implement logging for business problems
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data scientists on data needs
  • Build data expertise and leverage data controls for privacy, security, and compliance
  • Design, build, and launch new data models and visualizations in production
  • Independently design, build, and launch new ETL processes in production
  • Support existing processes and implement optimized solutions
  • Define and manage SLA for data sets in allocated areas of ownership
  • Work on problems of diverse scope requiring evaluation of identifiable factors
  • Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions

Requirements For Data Engineer, Product Analytics

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Applied Sciences, or related field
  • 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation
  • 5 years of experience in custom ETL design, implementation, and maintenance
  • 5 years of experience in schema design and dimensional data modeling
  • 5 years of experience writing SQL statements
  • 5 years of experience analyzing data to identify deliverables, gaps and inconsistencies
  • 5 years of experience managing and communicating data warehouse plans to internal clients
  • 5 years of experience with MapReduce or MPP system
