Description For Data Scientist

Meta is seeking a Data Scientist to join their team. The role involves collecting, organizing, interpreting, and summarizing statistical data to contribute to the design and development of Facebook products. You'll apply expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and data presentation to understand user interactions with both consumer and business products. Collaboration with Product and Engineering teams is key to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities. You'll inform, influence, support, and execute product decisions and launches. Projects may include product operations, exploratory analysis, product influence, and data infrastructure. The role requires analyzing large datasets, interpreting trends, and identifying actionable insights. You'll also work with Data Engineering to build and maintain core data infrastructure and automate workflows. This position offers a salary range of $209,720 to $235,400 per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Responsibilities For Data Scientist

  • Collect, organize, interpret, and summarize statistical data
  • Apply expertise in quantitative analysis and data mining

Requirements For Data Scientist

Python
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Political Economy, Mathematics, or related field
  • 24 months of experience in performing quantitative analysis on complex data sets
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with R, SAS, or Matlab
  • Experience with applied statistics or A/B testing
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques
  • Experience with ETL processes
  • Experience with relational databases
  • Experience with large-scale data processing infrastructures
  • Experience with quantitative analysis techniques (clustering, regression, pattern recognition, descriptive and inferential statistics)
