Description For Depth System Calibration Engineer

Meta Camera and Depth is focusing on developing and building state-of-the-art cameras for Facebook AR/MR products. The system performance team is responsible for technology development and maturation, design, novel manufacturing/test/calibration processes, and system integration of all Meta Camera and depth products.

The team is looking for an experienced and self-driven Depth System Calibration Engineer to work with cross-functional teams on technology calibration, bring-up, lead the development, qualification, characterization, and implementation of the technology in Meta's Camera and depth optical modules.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing calibration and test plans for depth systems
  • Performing end-to-end test setup, data collection, and analysis for setting up test specs and validation
  • Improving calibration and test coverage by developing lab and factory tests, including metrology and algorithm development
  • Performing system and module level failure analysis
  • Analyzing volume data to improve system performance considering trade-offs from all perspectives
  • Domestic and/or International travel (10%)

Requirements For Depth System Calibration Engineer

Python
  • BS degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, a related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Optical Engineering, Physics, or computer science
  • 3+ years of experience within hardware consumer industry, with experience in camera modules
  • Hands-on experience on 2D or 3D module calibration and test
  • Precise communication skills, analytical and problem-solving experience
  • Demonstrated data analysis experience in Python or Matlab
  • Test automation experience in Python or Matlab
