Responsibilities For Documentation Engineer

  • Turn technical information into engaging language, partnering with Meta designers, researchers, and engineers
  • Create and maintain internal and external technical documentation for technologies and tools
  • Define and drive technical documentation projects
  • Perform system research and translate technical information into clear documentation
  • Work with engineering, product, and support teams to ensure content quality
  • Annotate systems and develop content guidelines
  • Create technical documentation for multiple platforms (web, iOS, Android)
  • Plan, write, edit, test, and improve content including interface language and product materials

Requirements For Documentation Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technical Writing, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry or related field
  • 3 years of technical writing or developer outreach experience
  • Experience with programming languages (JavaScript, Objective-C, Java, PHP, or Python)
  • Experience writing, proofreading and editing
  • Experience independently defining and driving technical documentation projects
  • Experience with authoring tools (XML, HTML, Markdown, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator)
  • Experience producing and organizing content with logical flow
  • Experience with programming, command-line, UI testing, and prototype hardware
  • Experience meeting multiple deadlines
