Description For Hardware Systems Engineer, NPI Lead

Meta is seeking an experienced Hardware Systems Engineering Lead to join their Release to Production (RTP) team, focusing on new NPI hardware implementation. This role is crucial for Meta's infrastructure, working at the foundation of their rapidly scaling server and data center operations.

The position involves leading end-to-end hardware lifecycle management, from experimental prototyping to production deployment. You'll work at the intersection of hardware and software, collaborating with diverse teams including hardware designers, networking specialists, system manufacturers, and data center operations.

As a Hardware Systems Engineer Lead, you'll be responsible for comprehensive system validation, test strategy development, and hardware/software integration. The role requires strong technical expertise in areas such as compute systems, storage, and high-speed IO, combined with leadership experience in complex SOC environments.

The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of experience in hardware systems engineering, with demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting, debugging, and test development. Responsibilities For Hardware Systems Engineer, NPI Lead

  • Lead and execute comprehensive end-to-end system validation for next generations of compute and storage systems
  • Collaborate with hardware designers, external partners, and internal silicon validation teams to define test strategy
  • Contribute to new feature/technology development/validation across hardware/software stack
  • Create experiments and tooling to detect and diagnose hardware/firmware/software health issues
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and root cause system failures
  • Develop visibility through data visualization and implement systemic solutions
  • Drive continuous product quality improvement
  • Communicate complex technical findings to stakeholders
  • Identify and mitigate potential product risks

Requirements For Hardware Systems Engineer, NPI Lead

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 7+ years of experience in compute, memory, storage, GPU/Accelerators, High Speed IO, and/or system management
  • 2+ years of experience as a tech lead for complex SOCs
  • Direct experience in ASIC development, board level debug, firmware validation, system validation
  • 3+ years of experience troubleshooting and debugging using lab tools
  • 3+ years of experience in developing test specifications, procedures, and debug guides
