Description For Integrity Science Engineer

Meta is seeking an Integrity Science Engineer to join their team in London, focusing on solving challenging problems related to community safety and platform integrity. This role sits at the intersection of big data, deep investigations, and complex systems, working to improve Facebook & Instagram community experiences.

The position offers an opportunity to work on some of Meta's most critical challenges, from child safety to scams and account takeover prevention. The role involves building and improving scaled abuse detection systems that impact billions of users across Meta's products. You'll be conducting technical investigations, data analysis, and applying machine learning while thinking like an adversary to build robust detection and remediation systems.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong quantitative background combined with extensive experience in dealing with online adversaries. You'll need to be comfortable working with large datasets, complex products, and detection systems, while making data-driven decisions. The role requires someone who is curious, action-oriented, and skilled at pattern recognition amid chaos.

Working from Meta's London office, you'll collaborate with software engineering, data science, and operations teams to enforce Facebook's community standards at scale. Responsibilities For Integrity Science Engineer

  • Apply expertise in online abuse, technical investigations and data analysis to identify opportunities to improve Facebook's platform abuse response
  • Partner with software engineering, data science and operations teams
  • Contribute to various codebases across Facebook's technical stack
  • Be a thought leader in understanding online abuse and adversarial behaviours
  • Handle quickly changing priorities and multiple simultaneous initiatives

Requirements For Integrity Science Engineer

Python
PHP
  • 2+ years experience in quantitative analysis
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Math/Finance, Physics, Applied Economics, Statistics or other technical field
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL
  • Experience coding in PHP, Python, Haskell, or Java
  • Experience working across anti-abuse/security/Trust & Safety community
  • Experience investigating high-impact threats and online threat actors
  • Experience in adversarial space like financial fraud, spam, child safety
  • Understanding of security and integrity risks
