Mechanical Engineer

This is a full-time position within the Mechanical Engineering group at Meta. The group supports all Data Center product teams, including AI/ML servers, storage, networking, connectivity, and data centers. Each product team builds specific infrastructure to connect people worldwide. Meta supports this effort through the Open Compute Project (OCP) to make Internet connectivity available to all.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading product specification, design, prototyping, and testing for AI/ML server, storage, or network systems
• Collaborating with various teams to meet project goals and schedules
• Validating product performance using design and simulation tools
• Performing tolerance analysis and motion studies
• Quickly iterating through design concepts with fast prototypes
• Creating test plans and verifying design performance
• Preparing documentation for prototyping, quoting, and production
• Working with contract manufacturing partners
• Understanding product packaging and testing requirements
• Supporting manufacturing partners on-site

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or mechatronic engineering or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience designing and shipping commercial products
• Experience with 3D CAD software (Creo or SolidWorks)
• Cross-functional issue resolution skills
• Strong communication and documentation abilities

Preferred qualifications include 7+ years of experience in data center system equipment, familiarity with server and network systems, experience with various design techniques, and expertise in optimizing product designs using FEA and CFD.
