This role combines technical expertise with strategic leadership in managing Meta's vast network infrastructure. The position offers a competitive salary range of $133,000-$190,000 plus bonus and equity, reflecting the role's significance in maintaining one of the world's most dynamic networks.
The ideal candidate will bring 8+ years of experience in large-scale network operations, with a strong foundation in IP networking, infrastructure design, and cross-functional leadership. This role demands expertise across multiple technical domains, including systems administration, automation, security, and hyperscale DC structured cabling.
As a Network Operations Engineer, you'll lead critical infrastructure projects, drive operational improvements, and manage relationships with third-party partners. The position involves participating in Tier IV+ on-call rotation, providing technical guidance, and implementing automation solutions to enhance network reliability.

Responsibilities For Network Operations Engineer
- Lead highly cross-functional infrastructure projects/programs/functions
- Identify opportunities to drive improvements to existing tools & processes
- Represent organization and manage interaction with third party partners
- Lead business risk management alignment and change management
- Ensure relevant operational process documentation is effectively managed
- Participate in the global team's Tier IV+ on-call rotation
- Provide expert root cause and corrective action leadership
- Drive team analysis of operational events for automation opportunities
- Provide hands-on management during analysis and implementation phases
- International and Domestic travel may be required up to 25% of the time
Requirements For Network Operations Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 8+ years of work experience operating, deploying, and/or designing large-scale network, optical, and/or physical layer infrastructure
- Experience establishing and maintaining cross-functional relationships
- In-depth experience in organizational and digital transformation initiatives
- Intermediate subject matter expertise in IP Networking/Routing & Switching
- Experience in providing technical guidance to external vendors
- Familiarity with physical infrastructure design
