Responsibilities For Network Operations Engineer
- Lead operations improvements, repairs and automation on Meta production networks in a hyper-scale environment
- Formulate metrics and definitions of success to drive quality, efficiency, cost, and timeliness
- Develop operational process improvement plans and transform them into scalable automated workflows
- Perform analysis on complex technical issues across networks
- Anticipate potential operational risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Participate in escalation and emergency response with detailed postmortem
- Build cross-functional relationships with various teams
- Participate in the oncall rotation with the global operations team
- 15% travel (domestic and international)
Requirements For Network Operations Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of experience with network operations supporting large-scale network infrastructure
- Proficient in IP network or CDN/Edge network
- Experience working within a global team
- Experience coding in higher-level languages (Python, C++, Go)
- Experience in implementing/maintaining monitoring, alerting and repairing systems
- Knowledge of TCP/IP and IPv6 (preferred)
- Experience in providing technical guidance to external vendors (preferred)
