Meta's Edge Network Engineering team is seeking a Network Production Engineer to join their dynamic team responsible for designing and maintaining the global IP backbone. This role combines software and network engineering expertise to ensure smooth operation of Meta's vast network infrastructure.
As a Network Production Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of connecting Meta's global Internet user community through Points of Presence (POPs) to data centers. You'll develop network designs and solutions, working closely with partner teams to design network topologies, select technologies and protocols, and choose network products that align with Meta's needs.
The ideal candidate brings 2+ years of network engineering experience and strong coding skills in languages like Python or Go. You'll work with multi-vendor, multi-protocol infrastructure, developing automation solutions and conducting data analysis to influence design decisions. Your responsibilities will include maintaining technical relationships with vendors, implementing monitoring solutions, and participating in on-call rotations.

Responsibilities For Network Production Engineer, Edge Networks
- Design, test, manage and maintain multi-vendor, multi-protocol, backbone, POP and peering network infrastructure
- Write and review code, develop documentation and capacity plans, and debug problems
- Develop audits and checks to establish network health or device health
- Maintain technical interface with Meta's networking vendors
- Define SLA, implement metric collections and reporting for network products
- Analyze data to diagnose and identify root causes to network issues
- Share on-call rotation and be an escalation contact for service incidents
Requirements For Network Production Engineer, Edge Networks
- 2+ years of work experience in network engineering
- 1+ years of work experience coding in higher-level languages (Python, C++, Go, etc.)
- Experience developing and understanding network device configuration for at least one vendor
- Protocol experience in BGP, OSPF or ISIS
