Description For Partner Engineer, Android

Meta's Partner Engineering team seeks a Senior Android Engineer to work with strategic partners in integrating Meta products into mobile platforms, apps, and VR/AR devices. This role is crucial in managing programs like the Facebook Preloads Program, which has reached over 2 billion Android devices, and RL devices initiatives for Quest and Smart Glasses.

As a Partner Engineer, you'll collaborate with world-leading companies to ensure Meta's apps' compatibility and quality on partner devices. You'll work closely with internal Product teams to enhance applications and drive innovation by integrating partner apps and services on Reality Labs devices. The role combines technical expertise with business acumen to improve Meta apps' quality across partner devices.

The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge of Android platforms, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead highly visible initiatives. You'll be responsible for driving feature innovation at both platform and app levels, supporting app releases, and ensuring compliance across Meta's family of apps. Responsibilities For Partner Engineer, Android

  • Improve the quality of Facebook apps on partners' latest Android devices
  • Be a subject matter expert in relevant project/product and technology areas
  • Collaborate with external partners, internal Engineering and Product partners on Android app pre-installation
  • Identify and surface insights using metrics on product usage
  • Understand tools, concepts and processes related to Facebook family of apps
  • Build productive relationships with partners
  • Guide workflow changes and gain consensus from stakeholders
  • Mentor and share knowledge with peers
  • Work with partners to develop long-term strategic plans
  • Travel approximately 10% of the time

Requirements For Partner Engineer, Android

Java
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience - software engineering or partner engineering
  • Experience with Android development and using various SDKs and libraries
  • Software development experience in Java, NDK(C++) and/or PHP
  • Experience to take on complex and ambiguous problems
  • Experience communicating in Mandarin fluently and idiomatically
  • Excellent communication, analytical, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with the Android preload model and its product development lifecycle
  • Expertise in AOSP (Android Open Source Platform)
