Meta is seeking a Performance and Capacity Engineer to work with cross-functional teams to scale infrastructure, tackle hardware performance issues, and contribute to capacity planning. The role involves analyzing server performance, optimizing code, developing monitoring tools, and presenting capacity roadmaps to executive teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Scaling infrastructure and building large-scale Internet services
- Contributing to Meta capacity planning and recommending DC expansion plans
- Analyzing and debugging server performance issues
- Working with software developers to improve code base performance
- Developing tools to monitor billions of user requests
- Running capacity and performance experiments
- Owning company server budget and tracking it
- Presenting monthly performance and capacity roadmaps to executives
- Proactively identifying and resolving capacity-related issues
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 24 months of work experience in a computer-related occupation
- Experience with C, C++, C#, or Java
- Linux or Unix proficiency
- Familiarity with software development tools
- Technical presentation skills
- Knowledge of computer architecture and microarchitecture
- Experience in performance analysis, tuning, and optimization
