Responsibilities For Product Design Engineer
- Model, build, test, and refine prototypes and characterization test systems
- Work across the full product development cycle, from concept inception to shipping product
- Push state-of-the-art technologies and approaches to solving complex mechanical problems
- Design for Manufacturability - Ensure design robustness and scalability
- Establish optical engineering specifications and test requirements
- Collaborate with internal cross functional teams and external industry partners
Requirements For Product Design Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, or Optics Engineering or 10 years equivalent experience
- 5+ years of product design and development experience in high volume consumer electronics
- Experience working with contract manufacturers on optical assembly
- Experience in DOEs, data analysis, SPC control, Gauge R&R, root cause investigation
- Fluent English and experience leading cross-functional communications
- Testing and analysis experience (FEA, Simulation, Design of Experiments)
- Knowledge of high-volume manufacturing techniques
