Responsibilities For Product Design Mechanical Engineer, Reality Labs

  • Architect complex mechanical solutions that advance the state-of-the-art as part of multi-disciplinary team
  • Model, build, test, and refine prototypes and characterization test systems
  • Work across the full product development cycle, from concept inception to shipping product
  • Leverage external teams (CM/JDM/Vendors) to maximize the focus of internal resources
  • Champion engineering quality and establish the design process
  • Travel to external vendors up to 20%

Requirements For Product Design Mechanical Engineer, Reality Labs

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry experience
  • 10+ years of product design and development experience in handheld/wearable electronics
  • Experience in DFM, DFA, statistical tolerance analysis, functional dimensioning, geometric tolerancing, and 3D/2D CAD
  • Working knowledge in material properties
  • Testing and analysis experience (FEA, Simulation, Design of Experiments)
  • Knowledge of high-volume manufacturing techniques
