Description For Production Network Engineer, Physical Infrastructure

Meta is seeking a Production Network Engineer to join their datacenter network engineering team, focusing on physical infrastructure. This role is crucial in Meta's expanding datacenter operations, which support their diverse range of social and technological services. The position combines traditional networking expertise with innovative approaches, particularly following Meta's development of proprietary switching software (FBOSS) and networking products (Wedge and Six-pack).

The role demands extensive experience in network engineering, requiring deep knowledge of protocols like TCP/IP, BGP, and expertise in fiber optic infrastructure. You'll be responsible for architecting and implementing scalable datacenter solutions, working at multiple layers from physical infrastructure to software integration. The position offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and influence the future of networking infrastructure at scale.

As a Production Network Engineer, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and sourcing, to develop new optical solutions and implement sophisticated network topologies. The role requires both technical expertise and the ability to communicate complex concepts to various stakeholders. You'll be involved in the complete lifecycle of network infrastructure, from design to implementation and troubleshooting.

Meta offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $161,000 to $225,000 per year, plus bonus and equity opportunities. The position is based in Menlo Park, CA, placing you at the heart of Meta's technical operations.
