The Meta Reality Labs Research Team is seeking exceptional Research Scientists for internships in 3D Machine Perception and Generative AI. Interns will work on cutting-edge research problems to innovate novel computer vision and machine learning techniques for AR and VR devices. Research areas include object/scene reconstruction, egocentric 3D reconstruction, 3D scene understanding, multimodal generative models for 3D shape synthesis & reconstruction, and generation of parametric shape programs. Internships last 12-24 weeks with various start dates throughout the year.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning and executing cutting-edge research to advance state-of-the-art in machine perception, state estimation, reconstruction, and rendering of 3D objects and scenes.
- Collaborating with researchers and engineers across machine perception teams at Meta.
- Designing, setting up, and running practical experiments and prototype systems related to large-scale high-quality sensing and machine reasoning.
Qualifications:
- PhD (in progress or completed) in computer vision, computer graphics, 3D machine perception, or machine learning.
- Experience with 3D and projective geometry, image-space computer vision, and implementing 3D computer vision algorithms.
- Proficiency in Python, PyTorch, and Unix environments.
- Strong research track record demonstrated by publications, patents, or grants.
- Experience in neural reconstruction, inverse rendering, neural rendering, object reconstruction and tracking, or generative modeling is preferred.
