At Meta Reality Labs (RL), we're developing the future of augmented reality. As a Research Technical Program Manager, you are a critical member of a multidisciplinary team contributing to our efforts to gain a scientific understanding of human and machine perception; translating it into the ultimate AI and AR experience for our users.
You will work closely with a team of engineers in Reality Labs Research to build research hardware like Project Aria (https://www.projectaria.com/). Project Aria is a research tool which accelerates Meta's machine perception and AI learnings from a human. You are accountable for timely and efficient execution of technical programs at quality. To be successful, your goal is to accelerate development by eliminating barriers to your team's success, clearly communicating results to all stakeholders and ensuring that the big picture and long term strategy remains in focus while going deep as you manage the project day to day.
Responsibilities:
- Scope problems with a cross-org view and translate complex technical details into simple-to-understand communications
- Define the technical program or platform strategy, and build a plan with technical dependencies and balance trade-offs
- Drive end-to-end execution and delivery of technical programs from ideation to implementation
- Drive cross-org dependencies and alignment, collaborate on success-metrics, and communicate program status
- Align and drive deliverables among external partners and internal hardware and software teams
- Identify risks and issues in advance, and proactively work to mitigate and solve them
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
- 7+ years of program management experience delivering hardware or consumer electronics
- Working knowledge of Product Development Process (PDP) and Software Development Lifecycle (SDL)
- Proven program management, leadership, and cross-group collaboration skills
- Versatility in corresponding, presenting, and facilitating to all levels of the organization
- Experience working in a highly ambiguous technology field with rapidly changing requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in related fields such as Computer Science
- Experience in shipping AR/VR or computer vision enabled products or services
- Experience working in a research group or startup
