Meta is seeking a Security Engineer for their Integrity, Investigations, Intelligence, and events (i3E) team to protect users across Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Oculus from various threats. This role combines technical expertise with investigative skills to combat criminal organizations, human trafficking, and fraud.

The position requires a unique blend of security engineering and investigative capabilities, with a focus on protecting Meta's user base from sophisticated threats and offline harm. You'll be working with cutting-edge technology and data analysis tools to identify, investigate, and mitigate security risks across Meta's platforms.

As a Security Engineer in the i3E team, you'll be responsible for conducting complex investigations, developing automated solutions, and implementing large-scale protective measures. The role involves working with various data sources and requires proficiency in programming languages like Python or PHP, along with experience in using advanced data analysis tools.

  • Proactively hunt for threats and undetected abuse using internal data, open-source intelligence, and third party private intelligence
  • Investigate complex cases to understand abuse and implement enforcement strategies
  • Identify areas to automate investigative tooling and tradecraft
  • Analyze and interpret large datasets to advance investigations
  • Implement effective strategies to prevent and disrupt abuse at scale
  • Address sensitive content issues and objectionable material

Requirements For Security Engineer - Investigations - i3E

  • 3+ years work experience in cyber security, private sector security investigations and intelligence, government, and/or intelligence
  • Experience working with Python, PHP or similar scripting languages
  • Proven experience conducting large scale data analysis and utilizing big data tools
  • Track record of effective communication and presenting technical findings
  • Experience investigating and acting on high-impact threats
  • BS/MS or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Intelligence Studies, Cybersecurity or related field
