Software Engineer, Product

Meta is seeking experienced full-stack Software Engineers to join their product teams. You'll have the opportunity to build new features and improve existing products like Messenger, Video, Groups, News Feed, Search, and more. This role involves solving unique, large-scale, highly complex technical problems and helping to connect billions of people around the world.

As a Software Engineer, Product, you'll be responsible for:

• Full stack web/mobile application development using various coding languages
• Creating consumer products and features using the internal programming language Hack
• Implementing web or mobile interfaces using XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Collaborating with PM and design teams to define feature specifications and build products using frameworks like React & React Native
• Working with operations and infrastructure teams to build and scale back-end services
• Building report interfaces and data feeds
• Establishing yourself as an owner of a particular component, feature, or system with expert end-to-end understanding
• Successfully completing large-scope projects while maintaining high productivity

The ideal candidate should have:

• 6+ years of programming experience in a relevant language
• 6+ years of experience building large-scale applications or similar
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Javascript, or Hack
• Experience as an owner of a particular component, feature, or system
• Track record of setting technical direction for a team and driving consensus
• Experience improving quality through code reviews, testing, proper rollout, monitoring, and proactive changes
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred qualifications include exposure to architectural patterns of large-scale software applications and experience in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Swift, or Kotlin.
