Meta's Reality Labs (RL) is seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager (TPM) for its Cross-Platform Foundations (XPF) team within the Trust and Platform Foundations (TPF) org. This role will drive strategic technical programs and cross-functional initiatives that shape developer experiences and user interactions.
The XPF team manages cross-Meta third-party (3P) developer experiences and first-party (1P) developer compliance, supporting 500K 3Ps. This work enables billions of dollars in revenue and involves overseeing 6,000+ APIs across Meta's Family of Apps, with significant user data and privacy implications.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and managing end-to-end technical product solutions
- Managing cross-functional products and programs execution
- Driving technical and product strategy
- Defining developer platform roadmap and long-term strategy
- Designing measurements to track impact and drive improvements
- Articulating technology, privacy/legal/policy requirements, goals, and milestones
- Collaboratively defining vision for Meta-scale, state-of-the-art, global products
- Establishing shared goals with product teams across the company
- Managing multiple programs through prioritization and effective collaboration
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering or technical program management, experience with APIs and developer tools, and the ability to work autonomously across multiple teams and functions. Responsibilities For Technical Program Manager - RL Developer Experiences
- Develop and manage end-to-end technical product solutions and ensure on-time delivery
- Manage and own cross-functional products and programs execution in a matrix organization
- Drive and influence technical and product strategy, identify risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Help define the developer platform roadmap and long-term strategy
- Design measurements to track impact and drive internal process improvements
- Articulate technology, privacy/legal/policy requirements, goals and milestones
- Collaboratively define vision for Meta-scale, state-of-the-art, global products
- Provide day-to-day coordination and quality assurance for tasks
- Work with technical program managers, product managers and engineers across Meta
- Communicate planning, project status, issues and risks to stakeholders
- Help drive product decisions to align with higher company initiatives
- Establish shared goals with product teams across the company
- Manage multiple programs through prioritization and effective collaboration
Requirements For Technical Program Manager - RL Developer Experiences
- B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of software engineering, systems engineering, hardware engineering, or technical product/program management experience
- Experience driving and delivering complex tech programs or products from inception to delivery
- Experience defining strategic direction and identifying new opportunities for impact amongst products, platforms and programs
- Knowledge of user needs, gathering requirements, and defining scope
- Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams and functions, demonstrated critical thinking, and thought leadership
- Communication experience at executive level and experience advising senior leadership and technical management teams
- Organizational, coordination and multi-tasking experience
- Analytical and problem-solving experience with large-scale systems
- Experience establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and multiple partners in different time zones
- Experience working with product teams to build and deliver end-to-end customer focused products
