Description For Wireless Systems Engineer

Meta's Reality Labs is at the forefront of developing the future of augmented and virtual reality technologies. We are seeking an experienced Wireless Systems Engineer to join our innovative Wireless team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge wireless technologies that will shape the future of AR/VR experiences.

As a Wireless Systems Engineer, you will be instrumental in analyzing and designing wireless subsystem requirements, including RF, PHY, MAC, protocol, and application level performance. You'll work on sophisticated system architectures and algorithms that meet stringent functional, quality, performance, footprint, and power requirements for next-generation VR/AR products.

The position offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $139,000 to $200,000 annually, plus bonus and equity opportunities. You'll be working at our Sunnyvale, CA location, collaborating with cross-functional teams and wireless chipset vendors to drive innovation in wireless architecture and technology roadmaps.

Key responsibilities include designing wireless system architectures, setting performance expectations, and researching new technologies to solve complex problems in the AR/VR space. You'll need at least 5 years of wireless system engineering experience, strong knowledge of wireless technologies (5G-NR, LTE, 802.11ax/ac, Bluetooth), and expertise in physical/MAC layer design.

Responsibilities For Wireless Systems Engineer

  • Analyze wireless subsystem requirements including RF, PHY, MAC, protocol, and application level performance
  • Design and specify wireless system architecture, algorithm, protocol and procedure for VR/AR use cases
  • Set system performance expectation and drive wireless architecture with cross-functional teams
  • Interface with wireless chipset vendors to ensure system requirements
  • Research new technologies and analyze competition technologies
  • Analyze system performance issues and improve system level performance

Requirements For Wireless Systems Engineer

Python
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of wireless system engineering experience
  • Knowledge of wireless technologies and standards (5G-NR, LTE, 802.11ax/ac and Bluetooth)
  • Experience in physical and MAC layer design, modeling, and validation
  • System performance debugging experience
  • Experience leading technical initiatives
  • Communication experience
  • Proficiency with Matlab, Python, C/C++ (preferred)
