Description For CE Field Service Engineer

Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) division is seeking a CE Field Service Engineer to join their world-class datacenter operations team. This role is crucial in maintaining and optimizing the infrastructure that powers Microsoft's global cloud services, including Azure, Office 365, Xbox, and more.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to work with critical environment infrastructure across Microsoft's vast network of over 100 datacenters, supporting services for more than 1 billion customers worldwide. As a CE Field Service Engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency of datacenter operations, working with cutting-edge technology and infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in datacenter or critical environment facilities, with a strong foundation in mechanical and electrical systems. You'll be part of a team focused on environmental sustainability and optimization, working to maintain Microsoft's position as a leading cloud provider.

Key responsibilities include managing day-to-day operations of mechanical and electrical equipment, implementing efficiency initiatives, and participating in emergency response planning. Responsibilities For CE Field Service Engineer

  • Ensures compliance with data center business units and service-level policies
  • Maximize Critical Environment (CE) availability in leased Datacenters
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Reduce high-impact and human-error Critical Environment incidents
  • Deliver cost/energy efficiency initiatives
  • Support Datacenter's Emergency Preparedness and Response plans
  • Coordinate CE audits and compliance verification
  • Manage and analyze Power/Temperature/Relative Humidity and SLA monitoring
  • Work with regional and global peers to share best practices
  • Provide mentorship across data centers

Requirements For CE Field Service Engineer

  • High School Diploma or equivalent AND 2+ year(s) industry experience in a datacenter or critical environment facility
  • OR 3+ years industry experience and college course work
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
