Description For CE Field Service Engineer

Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is seeking a CE Field Service Engineer to join their datacenter operations team. This role is crucial in maintaining and operating Microsoft's vast infrastructure of over 100 datacenters and 1 million servers worldwide, supporting services for more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses across 90+ countries.

As a CE Field Service Engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation of critical environment infrastructure, including UPS, Generator, and AHU systems. The position requires hands-on experience in datacenter operations, with a focus on maintaining high availability and operational efficiency. You'll work closely with landlord partners, engineering groups, and global teams to implement best practices and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities For CE Field Service Engineer

  • Ensure compliance with data center business units and service-level policies
  • Maximize Critical Environment (CE) availability in leased Datacenters
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Reduce high-impact and human-error Critical Environment incidents
  • Support Datacenter's Emergency Preparedness and Response plans
  • Coordinate and supervise CE audits and compliance verification
  • Manage and analyze Power/Temperature/Relative Humidity and SLA monitoring
  • Work with regional and global peers to share best practices
  • Provide mentorship across data centers

Requirements For CE Field Service Engineer

Linux
  • High School Diploma or equivalent AND 2+ year(s) industry experience in a datacenter or critical environment facility, OR 3+ years industry experience and college course work
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire and every two years
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
