Description For Cloud Security Engineer

Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to join their team responsible for powering cloud services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and Microsoft Azure platform. This role is crucial in implementing and operating modern cloud and on-premises cybersecurity controls to defend Microsoft's datacenter infrastructure from threats.

The position offers unique opportunities to gain cyber defense, automation, and networking skills through hands-on experience and mentorship. Working within CO+I, you'll be part of a team managing over 100 datacenters and 1 million servers globally, serving more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses across 90+ countries.

Responsibilities For Cloud Security Engineer

  • Proactively identify and investigate potential security issues and patterns
  • Install, upgrade, and maintain security hardware, operating system and software
  • Implement and support Cyber Security and Compliance solutions
  • Configure and monitor security products including Microsoft Sentinel, Azure DevOps, and Microsoft Defender
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Identify gaps in security policy and administration
  • Participate in on-call rotation
  • Analyze potential or actual intrusions and create detections

Requirements For Cloud Security Engineer

  • 3+ years of experience in Cloud Security Infrastructure, cyber security, anomaly detection, or SOC detection
  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud background check
  • Preferred: CISSP, CCSP, CCSK, CYSA+, Azure Security Engineer Associate certifications
  • Experience with industrial control systems (preferred)
