Microsoft Cloud Operations + Innovation (MCO+I) is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead data center development projects in Busan, Korea. This role is crucial for delivering Microsoft's cloud infrastructure, overseeing large-scale construction projects that power the world's largest online services.

The position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in construction project management, particularly in mission-critical facilities and data centers. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex construction projects, teams, and vendor relationships.

Key responsibilities include ensuring project delivery excellence across four main pillars: Safety, Quality, Schedule adherence, and Cost Management. The role involves coordinating with multiple stakeholders, including Microsoft Security, IT, Legal, Project Engineering, and Business Risk Management teams.

The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for:

  • Managing comprehensive project delivery for data center sites
  • Implementing and maintaining DCD Guidelines and standards
  • Coordinating with Data Center Engineering teams
  • Overseeing vendor performance and project controls
  • Ensuring workplace safety and quality standards
  • Managing budgets and financial reporting
  • Leading cross-functional teams and stakeholder relationships

Responsibilities For Construction Project Manager

  • Manage team's deployment of large-scale, campus, and regional-based delivery solutions
  • Manage day-to-day coordination with vendors, cost managers, and contractors
  • Oversee project controls, budgets, and change orders
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and schedule requirements
  • Lead vendor management and selection process
  • Monitor and implement project risk mitigation strategies
  • Coordinate with internal teams including Security, IT, Legal, and Engineering

Requirements For Construction Project Manager

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 10+ years related experience
  • 10+ years people management experience
  • 12+ years experience working on data center projects
  • 5+ years of progressive responsibility in Mission Critical Facilities
  • Experience working for a General Contractor or trade
  • Strong Verbal and Written English and Korean Communication Skills
  • Knowledge of ISO accredited Safety and Quality Management Systems
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check
