Description For Critical Environment Electrical Engineer

Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) division is seeking a Critical Environment Electrical Engineer to join their team. This role is crucial in delivering core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's vast network of cloud services.

The position is based in Des Moines, Iowa, with a salary range of $98,300 - $193,200 per year. The role requires either a Master's degree with 1+ years of experience or a Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering or related fields.

As a Critical Environment Electrical Engineer, you'll be part of a team managing over 200 datacenters across 32 countries, supporting services for more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses worldwide. Your responsibilities will include developing electrical engineering designs, creating documentation, implementing solutions to technical challenges, and participating in testing and verification processes.

  • Develop basic knowledge of industry trends and advances in engineering fields
  • Assist in creating robust, scalable designs for electrical engineering aspects
  • Participate in creating intellectual property and filing patents
  • Implement solutions to technical and design challenges
  • Develop design documentation including drawings, specifications, and schematics
  • Review supplier technical sheets and choose appropriate parts
  • Develop and execute test plans and infrastructure

Requirements For Critical Environment Electrical Engineer

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
