Description For Critical Environment Electrical Engineer

Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is seeking a Critical Environment Electrical Engineer to join their team in Cheyenne, Wyoming. This role is crucial in delivering core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.

The position offers an opportunity to work with a global portfolio of more than 200 datacenters across 32 countries, supporting services for over 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses worldwide. The role combines technical expertise with environmental sustainability initiatives, as Microsoft continues to evolve as a world-class cloud provider.

As a Critical Environment Electrical Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing solutions, developing operating documentation, conducting tests and verification, and managing technical projects. The role involves working with industry-leading technology and collaborating with a team of subject matter experts.

Key responsibilities include developing operating documentation, reviewing supplier technical sheets, executing test plans for datacenter infrastructure, and participating in root cause analysis. You'll also be involved in implementing product plans and tracking project progress.

Responsibilities For Critical Environment Electrical Engineer

  • Develop and implement solutions to common technical and design challenges
  • Develop operating documentation including procedures, drawings, and specifications
  • Review supplier technical sheets and choose appropriate parts
  • Develop and execute test plans for datacenter infrastructure
  • Analyze data for troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Implement and track product plans
  • Create detailed reports and operational reviews
  • Participate in testing and quality metrics development

Requirements For Critical Environment Electrical Engineer

  • 4+ years of technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering AND 2+ years technical engineering experience OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
