Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is seeking a Critical Environment Electrical Engineer specializing in battery systems to join their team. This role is crucial in maintaining and managing the electrical infrastructure that powers Microsoft's vast network of datacenters across 32 countries.

The position offers an opportunity to work with state-of-the-art battery systems and critical infrastructure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. As the Battery Program Owner, you'll be responsible for establishing and maintaining procedures for battery health across the metro area, while ensuring optimal performance of datacenter operations.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in electrical engineering with specific expertise in battery systems (VRLA, Li-Ion) and datacenter operations. Responsibilities For Critical Environment Electrical Engineer - Battery Expert

  • Serve as the on-site Battery Program Owner for the Metro
  • Manage all aspects of battery equipment in the metro
  • Act as technical authority for large-scale mission critical battery systems
  • Establish procedures to maintain battery health across the metro
  • Manage electrical infrastructures throughout datacenter campus
  • Support 24x7x365 on-site datacenters operations
  • Establish and coordinate maintenance and safety procedures
  • Empower culture of safety, security, and compliance
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills

Requirements For Critical Environment Electrical Engineer - Battery Expert

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) technical engineering experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check
  • Must have citizenship verification
  • May require passing CJIS criminal justice information system background check
  • Experience in Datacenter Operations or Critical Environment Infrastructures
  • Experience working with different battery systems (VRLA, Li-Ion)
