Description For Critical Environment Field Service Engineer

Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) division is seeking a Critical Environment Field Service Engineer to join their team managing the core infrastructure that powers Microsoft's cloud services. This role is crucial in maintaining and optimizing the operations of Microsoft's vast network of datacenters.

The position involves ensuring compliance with datacenter policies, managing critical environment programs, and overseeing the operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maximizing efficiency and safety while supporting emergency preparedness and incident reduction.

Microsoft's infrastructure comprises over 100 datacenters and 1 million servers globally, serving more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses across 90+ countries. Responsibilities For Critical Environment Field Service Engineer

  • Ensures compliance with data center business units and service-level policies
  • Manages programs associated with area of responsibility
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Maximize Critical Environment availability
  • Support delivery of Datacenter's Emergency Preparedness and Response plans
  • Coordinate and supervise CE audits and compliance verification
  • Ensure routine reporting for Power/Temperature/Relative Humidity and SLA monitoring
  • Work with regional and global peers to share best practices
  • Reduce high-impact and human-error Critical Environment incidents

Requirements For Critical Environment Field Service Engineer

  • High School Qualification or equivalent AND 3+ years electrical experience working in a Data Center Critical Environment
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check
  • Citizenship verification required
  • May require passing CJIS criminal justice information system background check
  • Valid passport required
