Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is seeking a Critical Environment Field Service Engineer to join their datacenter operations team. This role is crucial in maintaining and operating Microsoft's vast infrastructure of over 100 datacenters and 1 million servers that support services for more than 1 billion customers worldwide.

The position involves managing critical environment infrastructure, ensuring optimal operational efficiency, and maintaining high availability standards for Microsoft's cloud services. Responsibilities For Critical Environment Field Service Engineer

  • Ensure compliance with data center business units and service-level policies
  • Maximize Critical Environment (CE) availability in leased Datacenters
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Reduce high-impact and human-error Critical Environment incidents
  • Deliver cost/energy efficiency initiatives
  • Support Datacenter's Emergency Preparedness and Response plans
  • Coordinate CE audits and compliance verification
  • Manage Power/Temperature/Relative Humidity and SLA monitoring
  • Work with regional and global peers to share best practices

Requirements For Critical Environment Field Service Engineer

Linux
  • High School Qualification or equivalent AND 3+ years industry experience in datacenter or critical environment facility
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check
  • Citizenship verification required
  • 3+ years experience in Critical Environment infrastructures (UPS, Generator, AHU)
  • Bachelor's Degree or Technical College certification in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred
  • Experience working on large scale CE projects
  • Experience with operation of IT infrastructure (Servers, SANs, Networking, etc.)
