Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) division is seeking a Critical Environment Field Service Engineer to join their data center operations team. This role is crucial in maintaining and operating the infrastructure that powers Microsoft's cloud services including Azure, Office 365, Xbox, and more. With over 100 datacenters and 1 million servers globally, this position offers an opportunity to work at scale supporting services for more than 1 billion customers worldwide.

The role combines technical expertise in critical environment systems with operational management, focusing on maintaining optimal efficiency and safety of mechanical and electrical equipment. Responsibilities For Critical Environment Field Service Engineer

  • Ensure compliance with data center policies and service-level agreements
  • Manage critical environment programs and operations
  • Oversee maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Maximize critical environment availability
  • Support emergency preparedness and response plans
  • Coordinate and supervise CE audits and compliance verification
  • Manage power/temperature/humidity monitoring
  • Work with regional and global peers to share best practices
  • Provide mentorship and contribute to team development

Requirements For Critical Environment Field Service Engineer

  • High School Qualification or equivalent AND 3+ years electrical experience working in a Data Center Critical Environment
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check
  • Citizenship verification required
  • May require passing CJIS criminal justice information system background check
  • Experience working on large scale critical environment projects
  • Preferred: Bachelor's or Technical College Degree in relevant field with 8+ years experience
  • Preferred certifications: PMP, CDCP
