The position involves working with Industrial Control Systems (ICS) in a 24x7x365 environment, managing both electrical and mechanical systems across Microsoft's global portfolio of 200+ datacenters in 32 countries. Responsibilities For Critical Environment Instrumentation Engineer

  • Maintaining Industrial Control System (ICS) availability, data quality, and security in Data Centers
  • Site level ICS program and project management
  • Managing Microsoft's electrical and mechanical industrial control systems
  • Governing logical and physical access to ICS systems
  • Ensuring safety and security compliance in datacenter operations
  • Developing relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders

Requirements For Critical Environment Instrumentation Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years technical experience in Industrial Control Systems (ICS), software engineering, service engineering, or systems engineering
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire and every two years
  • Knowledge of construction techniques and terminology including blueprint reading
  • Experience with building electrical and mechanical systems
  • Understanding of Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) and Building Automation Systems (BAS)
