Description For Critical Environment Instrumentation Engineer

Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is seeking a Critical Environment Instrumentation Engineer (CE IE) to join their dynamic team. This role is crucial in delivering core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.

The CE IE will work in Microsoft's 24x7x365 mission-critical datacenters, managing and servicing industrial control systems (ICS) for electrical and mechanical systems. Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining ICS availability, data quality, service and change management, reporting, and security
  • Site-level ICS program and project management
  • Governing logical and physical access to ICS systems
  • Developing positive relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Empowering a culture of safety and security in global datacenter operations

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with 2+ years of technical experience. Preferred qualifications include experience in critical environments, industrial controls systems, and project management.

Requirements For Critical Environment Instrumentation Engineer

Linux
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 2+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, or systems engineering
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
  • Pass Microsoft Cloud background check
  • Australian Citizenship
  • Possible NV1/2, PV Clearance Assessment
