Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is seeking a Critical Environment Technician Manager (Night Shifts) to play a key role in delivering core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services. This role involves managing a team responsible for the operation and maintenance of critical environment systems in data centers.
Responsibilities:
- People Management: Model Microsoft culture, coach team members, and care for their growth and development.
- Equipment and Systems Operations: Oversee complex tasks, serve as an operations specialist, and provide training to team members.
- Equipment and Systems Maintenance: Guide and perform various types of maintenance, troubleshoot independently, and coordinate with third-party contractors.
- Critical Environment Culture: Ensure safety and security requirements are met, promote a safe working culture.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent AND 3+ years mission critical services experience
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check
- Citizenship verification required due to government customer requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6+ years mission critical services experience
- 1+ year(s) people management experience
- 1+ year(s) experience in a specialized area (e.g., mechanical, electrical, controls)
Physical Requirements:
- Occasional climbing of ladders
- Frequent climbing of stairs and/or ramps
- Prolonged standing
- Occasional lifting 50lbs / 22.5kg
- Occasional push or pull 50-75lbs / 22.5-34kg with assistive device
- Normal visual acuity and color vision
The base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $74,100 - $165,600 per year, with a different range applicable to specific work locations in the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area (USD $104,000 - $182,200 per year).
