Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is seeking a Critical Infrastructure Platform Engineer to join their team. This role is crucial in delivering core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services. As part of CO+I, you'll work with a global portfolio of more than 100 datacenters and 1 million servers, supporting services for over 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses worldwide.

Responsibilities For Critical Infrastructure Platform Engineer

  • Support hybrid CI/CD DevOps virtualized infrastructure
  • Perform and maintain automated operating system installation and configuration
  • Configure and maintain bare metal enterprise-class server systems
  • Monitor servers and ensure SLAs and KPIs are met
  • Provide 24/7/365 service and infrastructure operations support
  • Partner with global team on project delivery
  • Maintain security compliance and documentation

Requirements For Critical Infrastructure Platform Engineer

Linux

TypeScript
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Good technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, or systems engineering
  • Understanding of UNIX-based operating systems including Linux distributions
  • Experience with configuration management (PowerShell DSC, Puppet, Chef)
  • Experience with server & tooling platforms (Windows Server, Hyper-V, Active Directory, DNS)
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud background check
