Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) is seeking a Data Engineer to join their Global Project Controls (GPC) team. This role is crucial in delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft's cloud business, focusing on data governance and master data management in the EPC sector.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $117,200 - $229,200 and allows for up to 100% remote work, with multiple location options including Seattle, Atlanta, Austin, and Washington D.C. The successful candidate must have at least 4 years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree.

Key responsibilities include designing and implementing integrated data solutions, developing governance programs, managing data pipelines, and establishing performance metrics. The role requires expertise in data governance, master data management, and experience with tools like PowerBI, SQL, and Azure.

Responsibilities For Data Engineer

  • Define and prioritize program goals for Project Controls master data
  • Work with Software Engineering to design and implement integrated data solutions
  • Establish performance metrics and implement telemetry tools
  • Develop and execute master data management roadmap
  • Manage project schedules, milestones, and dependencies
  • Develop governance programs to ensure data integrity
  • Develop and maintain efficient data pipelines for ETL processes
  • Provide training on data governance and tools
  • Monitor and manage the lifecycle of master data

Requirements For Data Engineer

Python
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
  • 2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects
  • 2+ years experience developing PowerBI reports and/or digital work flows
  • Proven experience in data governance, master data management, and data quality assurance within the EPC industry
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check
