Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) is seeking a Datacenter Design Manager to join their team responsible for delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft's cloud business. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage and oversee the engineering and design of Microsoft's industry-leading datacenters, working with both internal teams and external vendors.
The position involves managing multiple concurrent projects, from site due diligence through design development, permitting, construction, and operational turnover. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing engineering scope, schedules, and budgets for various datacenter projects, including greenfield, brownfield, and retrofit initiatives.
This is a hybrid role offering up to 50% work from home flexibility, based in key hub locations including Atlanta, GA, Washington, D.C., Redmond, WA, or San Antonio, TX. The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $137,600 to $267,000 per year, with higher ranges for specific locations like San Francisco and New York City.
The ideal candidate will bring at least 6 years of relevant experience, with a strong background in engineering or technical program management. They should have proven experience in managing cross-functional projects and a deep understanding of datacenter infrastructure.
