Description For Datacenter Engineering Telecom Engineer - EMEA

Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) is seeking a Datacenter Engineering Telecom Engineer for their EMEA operations. This role is crucial in designing and managing physical networking infrastructure for Microsoft's cloud datacenters. The position offers up to 100% work from home flexibility with 0-25% travel requirements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the design of all aspects of physical networking infrastructure in Microsoft datacentres and co-location facilities. They will work closely with internal stakeholders on standards, requirements, and materials, while leading design workgroups and managing cross-functional meetings for multiple concurrent projects.

Key responsibilities include designing and overseeing physical network infrastructure, providing technical support for network refreshes, addressing existing condition investigations, and collaborating with various internal and external partners. The role requires strong analytical skills, organizational abilities, and excellent communication capabilities.

Responsibilities For Datacenter Engineering Telecom Engineer - EMEA

  • Design physical networking infrastructure for Microsoft data centres and co-location facilities
  • Provide technical support on physical network refresh and rebuilds including cable plant, pathways
  • Address existing condition investigations and communicate risk to relevant partners
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers and partners
  • Partner directly with cross organizational teams
  • Provide guidance to staff augmentation A/Es and A/E Consultants
  • Remote site support for construction teams
  • Site visits to review all stages of the construction and ensure quality

  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years
