Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) is seeking a DCE Lease Electrical Engineer to join their Datacenter Engineering team. This role is crucial in delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft's cloud business. The position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in datacenter electrical engineering, design, construction, and operations.

As a Subject Matter Expert, you'll be responsible for the technical review, analysis, and coordination of complex datacenter electrical systems in the APAC region. The role involves collaborating with internal and external partners, leading electrical workgroups, and ensuring compliance with Microsoft's standards.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience or relevant advanced degrees with strong technical expertise in electrical engineering. You'll work with cutting-edge datacenter technology, managing power system designs, and contributing to Microsoft's industry-leading datacenter designs.

Responsibilities For DCE Lease Electrical Engineer

  • Provide electrical Subject Matter Expert input to organizations and stakeholders
  • Manage and review complex data center electrical systems
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers for datacenter designs
  • Lead electrical workgroups with consulting firms and key stakeholders
  • Oversee power system designs throughout design phases and equipment procurement
  • Develop specifications and drawings for electrical systems
  • Assist Operations team in troubleshooting electrical failures

Requirements For DCE Lease Electrical Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or related field with 8+ years experience, OR Master's degree with 6+ years experience
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a lead engineer
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detailed understanding of uninterruptible power sources, diesel generators, electrical switchgear
  • Detailed understanding of relays, protection schemes, high-voltage distribution system
  • Excellent knowledge of building codes and regulations
  • Experience with power system analysis and engineering software packages
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check
