Description For Edge Data Centre Critical Environment Field Service Engineer

Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) division is seeking a Critical Environment Field Service Engineer to join their datacenter operations team. This role is crucial in maintaining and optimizing Microsoft's vast infrastructure of over 100 datacenters supporting services like Azure, Office 365, and Xbox.

As a CE FSE, you'll be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of Edge datacenter facilities, working with mechanical and electrical systems, and collaborating with various engineering teams. The position offers a unique blend of hands-on technical work and strategic planning, with opportunities to influence best practices across the global Edge portfolio.

Responsibilities For Edge Data Centre Critical Environment Field Service Engineer

  • Ensures compliance with data center business units and service-level policies for Edge Critical Environments
  • Manages CE programs associated with area of responsibility
  • Delivers new Edge Datacenters with partners by providing onsite expertise
  • Maximize Critical Environment availability in conjunction with landlord partners
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Act as escalation point for facilities-related issues
  • Coordinate and supervise CE audits and compliance verification
  • Establish relationships with Engineering Groups and landlord partners

Requirements For Edge Data Centre Critical Environment Field Service Engineer

  • High School Diploma or equivalent AND 2+ year(s) industry experience in datacenter
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud background check
  • 3+ years experience in Critical Environment infrastructures preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree or Technical College certification in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred
  • Experience with IT infrastructure operations
  • Experience working on large scale CE projects
