Description For Edge Data Centre Critical Environment Field Service Engineer

Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) division is seeking a Critical Environment Field Service Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role is integral to maintaining and operating Microsoft's vast infrastructure of over 100 datacenters serving more than 1 billion customers worldwide.

The position offers a unique blend of technical expertise and operational management, focusing on critical environment infrastructure including UPS, Generator, and AHU systems. Working in a hybrid model with up to 50% work from home flexibility, you'll be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of Edge datacenter operations.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Overseeing critical environment operations and maintenance
  • Collaborating with landlord partners and engineering groups
  • Managing compliance and service-level policies
  • Participating in new Edge Datacenter deliveries
  • Contributing to root cause analysis and risk mitigation

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in datacenter or critical environment facilities, with a background in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred. Responsibilities For Edge Data Centre Critical Environment Field Service Engineer

  • Ensures compliance with data center business units and service-level policies
  • Manages CE programs and executes CE tasks or projects
  • Delivers new Edge Datacenters with partners
  • Maximize Critical Environment availability in conjunction with landlord partners
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Coordinate and supervise CE audits and compliance verification
  • Establish relationships with Engineering Groups and landlord partners
  • Provide mentorship and share best CE practices
  • Monitor and manage Power/Temperature/Relative Humidity and SLAs

Requirements For Edge Data Centre Critical Environment Field Service Engineer

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proven years industry experience in a datacenter or critical environment facility
  • Experience in Critical Environment infrastructures (UPS, Generator, AHU)
  • Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud background check
  • Bachelor's Degree or Technical College certification in mechanical or electrical engineering (preferred)
  • Experience working on large scale CE projects
