Description For Electrical Engineer

Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is seeking a Critical Environment Electrical Engineer to join their team. CO+I is the engine that powers Microsoft's cloud services, managing a vast infrastructure of over 100 datacenters and 1 million servers worldwide, serving more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses across 90+ countries.

The role involves working with critical electrical systems in datacenter environments, focusing on maintaining and operating complex power distribution systems, UPS systems, generators, and other critical infrastructure. You'll be responsible for ensuring service uptime, managing incidents, coordinating with construction teams, and establishing maintenance and safety procedures.

As a Critical Environment Electrical Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in:

  • Managing ongoing maintenance support for all service lines to meet SLAs
  • Acting as an Electrical SME for mission-critical systems
  • Supporting and validating datacenter operations
  • Implementing safety and compliance protocols
  • Working with construction and commissioning teams
  • Driving operational optimization and efficiency improvements

Responsibilities For Electrical Engineer

  • Empower a culture of safety, security, and compliance in data center activities
  • Manage ongoing CE maintenance support for all service lines to pre-defined SLAs
  • Management of incidents that impact Microsoft cloud services
  • Support and validate on-site datacenters operations
  • Act as the technical authority for mission critical electrical systems
  • Establish and coordinate maintenance and safety operating procedures
  • Drive Operational Optimization and Efficiency improvement initiatives

Requirements For Electrical Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field AND Good technical engineering experience
  • Very Strong technical engineering experience
  • Knowledge of construction techniques, terminology, and documentation
  • Experience with building management systems and automation
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check
