Description For Electrical Engineer - Data Center Operations

Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team is seeking a Critical Environment Electrical Engineer to join their datacenter operations. This role is crucial in delivering core infrastructure for Microsoft's cloud services, including Azure, Office 365, and Xbox. The position involves working with a global portfolio of 200+ datacenters across 32 countries, supporting services for over 1 billion customers.

As an Electrical Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing electrical systems, creating documentation, conducting tests, and ensuring the reliability of datacenter infrastructure. Responsibilities For Electrical Engineer - Data Center Operations

  • Develop knowledge of industry trends and advances in engineering fields
  • Create and execute scalable designs for electrical engineering aspects of products
  • Participate in creating intellectual property and filing patents
  • Develop design documentation including drawings, specifications, and schematics
  • Review and select appropriate parts from supplier technical sheets
  • Develop and execute test plans and verification procedures
  • Implement and track product plans
  • Document materials, components, and assemblies
  • Analyze and interpret test results and data

Requirements For Electrical Engineer - Data Center Operations

  • 6+ years of technical engineering experience OR
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 2+ years experience OR
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with 1+ year experience
  • Pass Microsoft Cloud background check
  • Experience with electrical engineering design and verification
  • Knowledge of test equipment like oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers
  • Ability to develop and review test plans
