Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is seeking an Energy Resource Manager to join their data center operations team. This role focuses on optimizing data center capacity through Infrastructure Utilization Effectiveness (IUE) and Power Harvesting (PH). The position involves managing IT allocation at campus/metro level, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring optimal resource utilization across Microsoft's vast network of 200+ datacenters in 32 countries.
The role combines technical expertise in data center operations with strategic capacity planning. You'll work closely with Electrical Engineers and Critical Environment Field Service Engineers to reduce stranded capacity and optimize space, power, cooling, and network resources. This position offers exposure to Microsoft's global infrastructure that supports over 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses worldwide.
The ideal candidate will have experience in IT equipment support or server deployment projects, with preferred background in critical environment infrastructure. You'll be responsible for developing master allocation plans, ensuring compliance with service-level policies, and participating in root cause analysis processes.
