Description For Hardware Verification Engineer

Microsoft is seeking a Hardware Verification Engineer to join their Azure team, focusing on developing next-generation networking devices. The role involves working on Azure Boost and contributing to hardware/software co-design initiatives that leverage hardware flexibility for network acceleration. The position offers an opportunity to work on some of the world's largest datacenter networks, developing advanced hardware/software acceleration solutions.

The ideal candidate will be part of a vertical work environment that encompasses hardware development, software drivers, and end-to-end features implementation. The role requires expertise in hardware verification, particularly with System Verilog and UVM, along with strong experience in micro-architecture and ASIC/FPGA design. Responsibilities For Hardware Verification Engineer

  • Define and Implement Design Verification Environments
  • Implement coverage metrics
  • Document test requirements and review testing plans
  • Write design verification test cases
  • Develop and execute moderately complex test plans
  • Conduct automated testing on moderately complex products
  • Create testing dashboards
  • Identify complex feature flaws using data analysis
  • Validate features by building prototypes
  • Provide input on project schedules
  • Choose available parts and evaluate materials used in production
  • Identify project risks and communicate team progress
  • Create detailed reports for products and features
  • Develop and deliver training and documentation

Requirements For Hardware Verification Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with verification of hardware accelerators with System Verilog and UVM
  • Extended experience in micro-architecture, logic design and/or verification of ASIC/FPGA designs
  • Ability to articulate end goals and trade-offs for undefined engineering challenges
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire and every two years
