Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is seeking an Industrial Controls Engineering Manager for their Data Center operations. This role combines technical leadership with people management, overseeing a team of skilled engineers responsible for maintaining and innovating industrial control systems. The position is integral to Microsoft's global infrastructure of 200+ datacenters across 32 countries, supporting services for over 1 billion customers.

The role involves managing critical Industrial Control Systems (ICS-BAS/EPMS) within Microsoft's 24x7x365 mission-critical data centers. You'll be responsible for ensuring system availability, data quality, and security while leading initiatives that drive innovation and excellence in datacenter operations. The position requires a blend of technical expertise in industrial controls and strong leadership capabilities.

  • Manage a team of highly qualified engineers to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-performance solutions
  • Utilize telemetry analytics to drive informed decision-making
  • Maintain Industrial Control Systems (ICS-BAS/EPMS) availability and security
  • Site level ICS program and project management
  • Manage and govern Microsoft's electrical and mechanical industrial control systems
  • Govern logical and physical access to ICS systems
  • Empower a culture of safety and security in global datacenter operations

Requirements For Industrial Controls Engineering Manager- Data Center

Linux
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Extensive technical experience in software engineering or systems engineering
  • Experience building and leading an Industrial Controls Engineering team
  • People management experience, particularly managing global Industrial Controls System teams
  • Experience in managing cross-functional, cross-organizational team projects
  • Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud background check
