Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is seeking a Critical Environment Instrumentation Engineer to join their dynamic team supporting 24x7x365 mission-critical datacenters. This role is crucial in maintaining and managing the core infrastructure that powers Microsoft's cloud services including Azure, Office 365, Xbox, and Bing. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a global portfolio of over 200 datacenters across 32 countries.

Responsibilities For Instrumentation Engineer

  • Maintaining ICS availability, data quality, service and change management, reporting, and security of ICS systems in Data Centers
  • Site level ICS program and project management
  • Managing Microsoft's electrical and mechanical industrial control systems
  • Governing logical and physical access to ICS systems, networks, workstations, and servers
  • Ensuring compliance with safety programs and policies
  • Developing positive working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders

Requirements For Instrumentation Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 2+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, or systems engineering
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire and every two years
  • Knowledge of Industrial Controls Systems (ICS) in datacenter environments
  • Understanding of Modbus and BACnet protocols
  • Experience with building electrical systems and mechanical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
