Description For Mechanical Engineer

Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team responsible for delivering core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's cloud services. The role is based in Cheyenne, Wyoming, with a focus on datacenter operations. The position involves working with a global portfolio of more than 200 datacenters across 32 countries, supporting services for over 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses worldwide. The ideal candidate will contribute to environmental sustainability initiatives and datacenter optimization, while working alongside industry professionals in IT and Critical Environments. Responsibilities For Mechanical Engineer

  • Empower a culture of safety, security, and compliance in data center activities
  • Understand the design and functionality of datacenter
  • Support 24x7x365 on-site datacenter operations and mechanical infrastructures
  • Act as technical authority for on-site operations of large-scale mechanical systems and designs
  • Collaborate with Operations and Design team on data center mechanical designs
  • Establish and coordinate maintenance & safety procedures
  • Steward vital infrastructure supporting Microsoft's online services
  • Assist with supplier selection and overseeing mechanical supplier execution

Requirements For Mechanical Engineer

Linux
Kubernetes
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
  • Pass Microsoft Cloud background check
  • 2+ years related technical engineering experience preferred
  • Strong desire and capability to learn, grow, and develop new skills
